Late Night Snacks for the After Wedding Munchies

Many brides and grooms want their wedding receptions to be parties that carry on well into the wee hours of the morning. If you are inviting a few close friends to a second location for late night festivities, you will want to have something to feed them. These are some tips on planning for late night wedding munchies. For couples who have decided to have this type of wedding after-party, it will mean needing to plan for one more phase of food service. In addition to the usual cocktail hour and dinner fare, you should have some great late night snacks to offer your guests. The number of people that you should expect to feed will depend in part on the mixture of your wedding guests. It is safe to anticipate that less than half of your dinner guests will stick around for the late night fun. Normally, the people that stay will be the young adults and maybe a crazy uncle or two.

As for the actual food, it should definitely be fun and casual little bites. Think about the type of food that you would get at a bar or on your way home at 2am – this is what should be on your menu. The trick is to present these very casual foods in a way that still has some style and flair.Often couples will bring in special vendors for the late night snacks. How about hiring the hot dog vendor that runs the cart on the way home from a late night? Serving hot dogs and fresh french fries in paper cones. It will be a big hit with your guests!Another great idea is to rent a popcorn cart and treat your guests to freshly popped popcorn. Make it more special by setting up a station with custom toppings. Your guests will love being able to jazz up their popcorn with toppings like seasoning salt, grated cheese, and even melted caramel or chocolate. Serve a selection of soft drinks like a really great local root beer in addition to alcohol; this is a good chance for your guests to wind down and sober up before making their way home. One of the other most popular late night munchies to serve at a wedding is sliders. Everyone loves a great mini-cheeseburger at midnight. If you have a sweet tooth, think about tasty snacks like fresh warm donuts or cookies and s’mores.

Other ideas include pizza, nachos, and chips and salsa. Last but not least, who doesn’t love grilled cheese? Especially with a side of tomato soup. Comfort food to the max! Your guests are sure to be thrilled when the snacks roll out after a long night of dancing. It is a great way to keep the party going all night. After all, everyone loves a little midnight snack!
