The winter season is here and with it we florists and designers get to choose from a really beautiful assortment of floral products that highlight the diversity that comes with the cold. Blooms take a back seat to the unique textures and colors of berries, pods and pine cones. While the winter bride often looks like a fairy princess with a snowy mountain backdrop, this season also offers some great options for your main man that have a much more masculine feel. Take a look below to see a few of my favorite winter boutonnieres.
Viburnum berries are an all time favorite of the florists here at Alexan Events. A great complement to deep red or burgundy blooms like ranunculus and scabiosa or an excellent focal flower surrounded by dark greenery. Shown above are some lovely boutonnieres made for a winter wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch by yours truly and photographed by our friend good Jordan Weiland Photography.
Juniper and brunia berries are beautiful choices for the rustic winter wedding boutonniere. The blues and grays of these berries pair perfectly with winter greenery like cedar and a hint of white florals.
Pine cones are a fun and very festive choice for your winter boutonnieres. With such a short window for pine cones being appropriate to use in your decor, you might as well take advantage of them everywhere that you can. Simple add a sprig of cedar, pine or red ilex berry, the pine cone is a classic choice.
No matter your personal style, each new season offers a stunning array of floral choices that can be mixed and matched to find something as unique as you and your man!
