We have had an amazing 2017 season at Alexan Events. We were really lucky to finish out the year with some of our favorite weddings. Some of our weddings are favorites for design, others are favorites for the people and some are a combination of both. On a personal note, this was one of my all time favorite weddings not only because it was so much fun to dress up the Larimer Social space, but also because these people are just so much stinkin’ fun! It was a real hoot.
Congratulations Ellie & Dave!
Ellie and Dave’s ceremony was one for the books. Not only was it completely emotional (I am pretty sure there wasn’t a dry eye in the house) but it was also hysterical. These two can make you laugh!
Ellie and Dave asked us to create a custom aspen chuppah with greens for their ceremony and then have it installed at their home. The end result was beautiful and it worked perfectly as their backdrop against the giant windows at the Chapel at Red Rocks.
These views are so stunning! After the ceremony Ellie, Dave and the bridal party all took their limo over to Red Rocks Amphitheater for photos. Mallory Munson, their wedding photographer, captured these perfect photos!
I loved creating Ellie’s bouquet and the men’s beer inspired boutonnieres. For texture in the bouquet I added in maiden hair fern, wedding ivy, preserved hops, white dahlias and white lysimachia. The look is sweet, elegant and full of texture! For the boutonnieres we just used preserved hops and a little seeded eucalyptus. Presented on a bed of moss, the boutonnieres took the father of bride’s breath away (just kidding!) Isn’t this sweet? The amount of love in that room was palpable and I feel so grateful to have been a part of it.
During the middle of the ceremony, these sweet little native deer showed up. Talk about serendipitous! I also had to throw in this photo of the gorgeous bridal party. These stunners were so much fun.
After the ceremony, all the guests headed on buses to Larimer Social in Larimer Square in downtown Denver, CO. They were greeted by a perfect Dr. Seuss quote, personalized mason jars, and a bar dressed up with beer growlers, preserved hops and plenty of candles. Avid beer drinkers and a family in the beer industry, Ellie & Dave had a beer brewed for their special day! “It’s a hoppy life” was on tap throughout the night. Each table was dressed with a wood charger, black and white harbor napkins, gold flatware, and either gold terrariums or beer growlers as the centerpiece surrounded by wreaths of fern, hops and Italian ruscus.
As primarily Colorado wedding florists and designers, we see it all! However, this was a new space for all of us at Alexan Events. Larimer Social has beautiful brass light fixtures, dark carpet, a giant bar and beautiful windows overlooking Larimer Square. The look is modern while still having a classic feel. We added in a few lounges with white leather couches and benches, pony hide pillows, fur throws and wood coffee tables. The look was perfect with this space. Talk about rustic-chic! Another big hit was the oxygen bar that Ellie surprised everyone with! It was so much fun. Can I get oxygen?!
From a rustic wooden cupcake display featuring Kim & Jake’s Cupcakes and an adorable cake topper, to a bread mold filled with breakfast burritos from Occasions Catering, this event was perfect. Not only am I grateful to have been able to be a part of Ellie & Dave’s big day, but I am also grateful that no one got injured during the Horah Chair Dance! Cheers.
Thank you to all of our wonderful vendors!
